Technician

Stanmore equipment is looking for full time and co-op employees with a basic understanding of diesel engines, gas engines and propane engines. Also requires a general understanding of hydraulics, electrical, axles, brakes and transmissions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
   
 1)  Engines:
Diesel, gas, propane. Must have a good understanding of overall operations of the engine. Must be able to trouble shoot and repair fuel systems, cooling systems, charging systems and overall engine performance.     
2) Hydraulics:
Must have a good understanding of the theory of hydraulics. Must be able to trouble shoot and diagnose poor performance of system. Must be able to replace components in the system, such as hoses, pumps, valves, seals and other associate components. Must be able to read schematics.   
3) Electrical:
Must understand the theory of the system. Must be able to read schematic and troubleshoot systems.     
4) Axle/Brake systems:
Familiar with axle assemblies to disassemble and reassemble both dry brake style and wet brake style.     
5) Transmissions:
Both manual and power shift. To be able to trouble shoot performance.     
6) Shop Cleanliness:
Must be able to keep your work area and shop tools clean.

Requirements and Qualifications:

 - High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus 
 - License to work operate forklifts, boom lifts, and aerial platforms preferred but not required 
 - Must be 18 years of age 
 - Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds 
 - Must be comfortable working at elevated levels 
 - Positive attitude and work ethic 
 - Able to work independently or as an active member of a team 
 - Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

Working Conditions:

 - Dexterity for handling small parts and tools in tight spaces.
 - Sufficient strength for handling larger parts and tools.
 - Pushing, pulling, reaching above/at/below shoulder, standing, crouching, bending, walking, crawling, kneeling, carrying lifting 10-100 lbs.  
 - Visually inspects equipment and parts; adequate hearing.
 - Able to work utilizing safety glasses, steel-toed work shoes, uniform and hearing protection.
 - Able to climb steps and ladders.
 - Work performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
 - Subjected to loud noises, vibrations, hardworking surfaces, lubricants and chemicals, fumes, dirt and inherent hazards of mechanic work.
 - Own tools required.
